Job summary

CoxHealth South in Springfield, Missouri is seeking a Food Service Assistant to support patient and staff meals. You will assist with preparation, delivery, and sanitation and help ensure high quality service in a hospital setting.

This flex/PRN position requires basic reading/writing, good communication, teamwork, and the ability to stand for long periods. Must be 16+, and HS diploma preferred. Shifts often include 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM, Mon/Wed/Fri.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is preferred.
• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Basic reading and writing and math skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Job Description

The Food Service Assistant works behind the scenes to provide high quality food for the patients, staff, and other customers. In the hospital setting Nutrition is crucial to the healing process, the Food Service Assistant serves a vital role in helping patients with this healing process. Performing preparation and delivery of food with a high standard of quality and sanitation. Additional duties will include customer service, serving, cleaning and sanitation. A high level of customer service to internal and external customers, attention to detail, teamwork, flexibility, and a positive attitude is required. This is a flex position. The hours are PRN (as needed).
