OverviewPerforms daily kitchen and cafeteria duties to maintain a safe, clean, and sanitary environment while providing quality service to patients, residents, customers, and partners. Prepares and assembles food items, delivers and retrieves patient trays, operates and sanitizes kitchen equipment, washes dishes and pots and pans, and replenishes supplies. Maintains clean work areas, performs cashier duties as needed, and works effectively in a fast-paced environment. Maintains flexibility to work alternate shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, and assigned work areas based on department and system needs.Schedule: Full TimeShift: Days and NightsESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESReads patient tray ticket orders and places items on trays.Delivers / serves patient trays, snack and supplements Assist patients with opening any itemsCollects patient trays from room, stacks dirty dishes on cart and returns cart to kitchenOperates dish machinePerforms daily / weekly cleaning tasksWashes and sanitizes dishes, pots and pans, and kitchen equipmentMaybe required to filter hot oil with mesh strainer and/or change oil in fryersServes cafeteria customersOperates cash registerPortions food items as directedReplenishes stock with proper rotationTakes and records food temperaturesTakes and records equipment temperaturesCleans and sanitizes work area, tables, and cabinetsCollects and places garbage and trash in designated containersFollows scripting when delivering patient traysAdheres to department safety and sanitation regulationsUse protective barriers (gloves, apron, and proper hair coverings)Excellent customer service skills needed when delivering patient traysEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred.PAY RANGE:$16.56 - $24.01Mercyhealth is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
