Job summary

OXFORD HILLS SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a Food Services Assistant to support daily meal preparation and service at the Central Kitchen. You will help with set-up, portioning, serving, and maintaining clean, sanitary work areas in a school food service environment.

Reporting to the Kitchen Manager or Food Service Director, you will operate equipment safely, assist as cashier or line checker when needed, and participate in routine clean-up and food safety practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the set-up, preparation, packaging, and serving of meals.
• Ensures sanitary condition of work area.
• Operates Food Service equipment in a proper and safe manner.
• Cleans utensils, sanitizes preparation surfaces and operates dishwasher.
• Functions as cashier, meal line checker or server as needed.
• Assists in clean-up of kitchen area as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Kitchen Manager, Food Service Assistant Director or Food Service Director.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT & SALARY

This position is 7 hrs/day for 177 days (175 student days + 2 workshop days) + 12 paid holidays. This position is eligible for benefits and leave outlined in linked contract.

EVALUATION

Performance of the Food Service Assistant will be evaluated by the Food Service Director.
