Holy Cross Catholic School and Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School are seeking a Food Service Assistant. The Food Service Assistant performs cooking duties under the supervision of the Food Service Director. They provide nutritious, attractive meals and à la carte selections to students.

This is a part-time position. Holy Cross Catholic School and Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School are located in downtown Marine City on a shared campus, serving about 300 students from preschool through twelfth grade.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Prepare high-quality food items according to recipes and instructions to meet production and service schedules, including USDA standards.
2. Serve meals or prepare for delivery, ensuring proper portioning, food temperature, attractiveness, and safety. Store leftovers safely.
3. Use established cash and ticket collection procedures during service, handling cash and records responsibly.
4. Operate the Point-of-Sale System (Meal Magic).
5. Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen after preparation and serving, including proper storage of leftovers.
6. Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and organized, storing all food and supplies properly.
7. Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed.
8. Assist in production planning, record keeping, and reporting as needed.
9. Order supplies and food for the area of responsibility, assisting in receiving deliveries.
10. Follow safety and sanitation procedures at all times.
11. Report maintenance issues or accidents immediately to the Food Service Director.
12. Attend in-service and safety meetings as required.
13. Work cooperatively with staff, students, parents, and administration, maintaining a positive work environment.
14. Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
15. Perform other duties as assigned.
