Job summary

Pardee UNC Health Care is seeking a per diem Dietary Aide to support the Dietary Services team. You will assist with tray preparation, delivery to patient rooms, and maintaining sanitary conditions in a busy hospital kitchen.

No prior experience or licensure is required. The role is onsite with variable schedule and 8-hour shifts, serving patients across the facility. Training and safety protocols are provided.

Responsibilities

• Assists with dirty food tray removal from units.
• Assists with early/late tray deliveries in a timely manner.

• Maintains clean work areas and sanitizes equipment and dish room.
• Delivers trays to patient rooms; provides courteous service.
• Adheres to health standards and required training.
• Handles food with proper hygiene and protective coverings.

Summary

This position assists higher-level personnel in preparing and serving food, and maintaining a clean work area. Work is reviewed for adherence to sanitary standards and completion of assignments.

Responsibilities

• Assists with dirty food tray removal from nursing units.
• Assists with early and late food tray deliveries in a timely manner
• Assists with tray preparation and/or delivery and works to ensure tray accuracy, adherence to special diets and customer service
• Assists with tray preparation during meal service hours.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils and work areas, including dish room. Washes dishes by hand or by machine.
• Delivers food trays or nourishments to patient's rooms or nursing units.
• Maintains compliance with JCAHO, State Health Department, and OSHA regarding on-going required job training and health standards,
• Transfers food in kitchen and on patient trays in a timely manner and using proper protocol (wears hair restraint, gloves, and properly covers food to prevent contamination).
