Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center, a 300+ bed hospital in Farmington, MO, seeks energetic Food Service Assistants for the SORTS unit to provide specialized dietary services to intellectually disabled forensic clients.

This entry-level role involves preparing and serving meals to patients and staff, maintaining sanitation of equipment and dining areas, and supporting dietary operations with training provided.

Qualifications

• 0-1 year of work experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves food to patients and staff in accordance with dietary guidelines and policies.
• Operates and sanitizes food service equipment including steam tables, refrigerators, dish washing machines.
• Monitors and maintains temperatures within prescribed limits of stored foods, serving line foods, and sanitation equipment.
• Disassembles serving line and cleans and sanitizes serving and dining areas using mops, brooms, and buffers.
• Transports food from preparation area to serving areas using trucks, hot carts, and food carts.
• Knows and follows procedures for hazardous chemicals per MSDS and supervisor's instructions.
• Attends work according to facility policies and may work overtime or other shifts to ensure staffing.
• Completes initial and continuing competency training to meet accreditation standards.

This is an entry level dietary position.

• Prepares and serves food to patients and staff in accordance with established dietary guidelines and policies.
• Operates and assures sanitation of food service equipment including steam tables, refrigerators, dish washing machines, microwaves, mile machines, etc.
• Monitors and maintains temperatures within prescribed limits of stored foods, serving line foods, and sanitation equipment.
• Disassembles serving line and cleans and sanitizes serving and dining areas using mops, brooms, and buffers. Moves dining room furniture and serving equipment to facilitate through cleaning.
• Transports food from preparation area to serving areas using trucks, hot carts, and food carts.
• Knows and understands procedures for use of hazardous chemicals in compliance with material safety data sheets and supervisor’s instructions.
• Attends work according to facility policies and works overtime or other shifts in order to assure adequate staff coverage.
• Successfully completes initial and continuing competency training in order that the facility can meet accreditation standards.
