Harford County Public Schools in Bel Air, Maryland, invites motivated students to join the Food & Nutrition Department Apprenticeships as part of the Youth Apprenticeship program. These positions let 11th and 12th graders learn on the job, completing 450 hours before graduation while earning while they learn.

Apprentices will rotate through kitchen operations, learn food preparation, sanitation, and customer service, and work with experienced staff to support daily meals for HCPS schools.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of food preparation standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Provide excellent customer service to HCPS students.
• Willing to learn across kitchen operations.

Responsabilités

• Assist in preparation of all food under supervision.
• Washes and sanitizes work areas and equipment.
• Serves breakfast and/or lunch.
• Assist in storage of deliveries and leftovers.
• Maintain inventories of food and supplies.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely.
• Attend training classes and staff meetings.
• Record production and inventory data.
• Support meal promotions and daily cashier tasks.
