Job summary

Kids & Company of Linn County in Lebanon, Oregon is seeking a Food Service Aide to prepare, deliver, and serve meals in a nutrition-centric program. The role spans 36 hours weekly, Monday through Friday, at the Lebanon center, with a wage of $18.01 per hour.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED and 1 year experience in food service.

• Ability to complete program vehicle/van training and meet all criteria for driving program van.

Responsibilities

• Dishwashing and Clean up.
• Wash breakfast, lunch and snack dishes using approved sanitation methods.
• Return all items to proper storage site.
• Maintain clean and sanitary kitchen facilities, cookware, carts and carriers, dishes and eating utensils on a daily basis.
• Maintain safe and sanitary storage of food.
• Maintain orderly storage and kitchen environment.
• Following established procedures and PPE, perform periodic cleaning tasks as assigned for proper maintenance and cleaning of kitchen equipment.
• Other center cleaning duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Assist with food preparation as directed by Food Service Manager.
• Ensure safe and timely delivery of meals.
• Assist with meal set up as needed.
• Adhere to sanitation and safety procedures.
• Implement special diets
• Eat with children in the classroom
• Provide feedback to Food Service Manager on food quality, food quantity, and student/teacher acceptance.

Position Purpose: Preparation, production, delivery and service of meals in accordance withestablished standards of nutrition, health and sanitation. Will provide dailytransport of meals to assigned centers.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Meal Delivery and Transportation

• Comply with all program transportation policies and procedures.
• Assist with loading and unloading of prepared foods to and from food service van utilizing proper lifting and ergonomic techniques.
• Maintain clean van and up to date transportation documentation.
• Transport carriers and pans back to kitchen.
• Ensure safe and timely delivery of meals
• Assist with meal set up and clean up
• Comply with all program transportation policies and procedures.
• Assist with unloading of prepared foods from food service van.
• Adhere to sanitation and safety procedures.
• Eat with children in the classroom.

Additional Job Responsibilities

• Attend and participate in program meetings as requested by supervisor
• Complete all areas of responsibility in compliance with program code of conduct and confidentiality policies.
• Be a contributory team member in a positive/productive manner.
• Demonstrate commitment to mission, values and policies in the performance of daily duties .
• Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Position Requirements

Other Requirements

• Current First Aid/CPR and Food Handler’s cards.
• Enrollment in the Child Care Divisions Central Background Registry
• Valid Oregon driver’s license and acceptable driving record meeting the criteria for agency insurance and driving program vehicles
• Completion of Employee Health Appraisal including TB screening.

Necessary Physical/Mental Abilities

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently, 10-15 pounds consistently.
• Continuous standing while preparing food and washing dishes.
• Daily driving of van for meal delivery to centers: ability to manipulate all controls.
• Repetitive bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling and climbing to prepare food items, perform cleaning tasks, place food items in storage, and load/unload the van for food transport.
• High level of daily repetitive motion with hands and arms in preparation of food, dishwashing and delivery activities.
• Ability to manipulate basic kitchen tools on a repetitive basis.
