The Chronicle of Higher Education, Inc. in Coeur d'Alene, ID is seeking a Children's Center Cook to plan, prepare, and serve healthy meals for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and staff while promoting healthy habits.

You will manage menus, purchasing, and records, ensuring cleanliness and safety in a collaborative environment. This 70% FTE role begins in early August, with competitive starting pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and a minimum of three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license to drive to locations for purchasing food and supplies.
• Food Handlers Card through Panhandle Health upon hire.
• Successful completion of an enhanced criminal background check including fingerprinting prior to unsupervised work with children.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious breakfasts, lunches, and snacks for ~65 children and 15 adults following CACFP guidelines.
• Assist with menu planning, recipe development, food purchasing, and budget management; maintain required program documentation.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation; ensure storage and prep areas meet standards.
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and family events to foster a warm, inclusive environment.

Help nourish young minds by preparing healthy, delicious meals thatsupport children's growth, learning, and well-being. As theChildren's Center Cook, you'll play an important role increating a positive mealtime experience for infants, toddlers,preschoolers, and staff while helping foster healthy habits thatlast a lifetime.

In this role, you'll plan, prepare, and serve nutritiousbreakfasts, lunches, and snacks for approximately 65 children and15 adults, following USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP)guidelines and accommodating specialized dietary needs. You'llassist with menu planning, recipe development, food purchasing, andbudget management while maintaining accurate records and completingrequired program documentation. You'll also ensure the kitchen,food preparation areas, and storage spaces meet the higheststandards of cleanliness and sanitation. As part of the Children'sCenter team, you'll participate in staff meetings, requiredtrainings, and family events, contributing to a warm, welcomingenvironment that supports children, families, and colleagues.

We're looking for someone who is organized, dependable, andpassionate about preparing nutritious meals for young children. Minimum Qualifications

Starting pay range: $14.93 - $17.17

Pay Grade: C2, 73% FTE

Work Site Location: Coeur d' Alene Campus

Work Schedule: 40hrs/wk between 6:30am-5:30pm M-F, summersoff
