Job summary

Southern Kentucky Rehabilitation Hospital in Bowling Green, KY is seeking a Food Service Aide to prepare meals, operate kitchen equipment, and follow HACCP and sanitation guidelines. You will assist patients with menu selections and ensure dietary changes are updated in the system.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality food in a timely and efficient manner.
• Operate equipment and perform related duties in a safe manner.
• Complete all procedures scheduled during the shift without compromising quality.
• Maintain compliance with sanitation, infection control, risk management and HACCP guidelines.
• Completes cleaning duties, pulling trash, sweeping, mopping.
• Assist patients in menu selections and accommodate allergies and cultural preferences.
• Update diet changes in the patient diet management system and print reports.
• Stock nourishment rooms and assist with kitchen stocking.
• Perform cafeteria duties including serving, grilling, stocking, cleaning and cash handling.

Compensation: Up to $18.00 per hour based on experience

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality food in a timely and efficient manner
• Operate equipment and perform related duties in a safe manner
• Complete all procedures scheduled during the shift without compromising the quality of work
• Maintain compliance to regulatory requirements for safe food handling, by following sanitation, infection control, risk management guidelines and HACCP plan.
• Completes cleaning duties, pulling trash, sweeping, mopping
• Assist patients in completing menu selections, offering alternative menu in accordance with food allergies, food sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences.
• Update and validate diet changes in the patient diet management system, prints and distributes reports, tallies, menus and meal tickets.
• Stock nourishment rooms and assist with kitchen stocking
• Perform cafeteria duties as assigned including serving, grilling, stocking, cleaning and cash handling.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• Food Handlers Card

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in Sanitation/Safe Food Handling
• Healthcare/restaurant experience
• Commitment to customer service
• Willingness to perform routine tasks and effectively work alongside the culinary team and leaders
