Job summary

Kalamazoo Public Schools is hiring for Food Service staff to support daily kitchen operations in the District Kitchen. We have 2 positions at $16.98 per hour, with responsibilities including food prep and kitchen cleanup in a fast-paced environment.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, good attendance, and basic reading, writing and math skills; physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and follow safety guidelines. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Must provide proof of a High School Diploma or accredited equivalent.
• Excellent attendance record; reliable and friendly.
• Displays exceptional personal hygiene practices.
• Able to read, write and do basic mathematical calculations.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Able to follow written recipe instructions (applies to FS-2, FS-3 or F-4 only).
• Basic understanding of food safety/sanitation-Prior cooking experience preferred (applies to FS-2, FS-3, FS-4 only).
• Has no misdemeanors within the past 5 years or any felony convictions.
• Previous food service, cashiering and cooking experience is desirable.
• Experience using commercial kitchen equipment is desirable.
• Other duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications
