Wingate Residences on Blackstone Boulevard in Providence, RI is seeking an experienced Cook to join our dining team. Work full time, including every other weekend and holidays, preparing meals per approved menus and recipes in a restaurant-style senior living setting.

The role requires teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. ServSafe certification is preferred. Benefits include medical, dental, vision and a 401K.

• Removes garbage and cleans trash containers as directed.
• Assists in receiving and storing food and supplies.
• Collaborates with residents and families to promote person-centered dining experiences.

Salary: $22.00 - $24.00

Job Purpose:

Work closely with the Executive Chef / Director to provide residents with a high level of customer service while promoting a restaurant style dining experience.

Hours:

Full Time including every other weekend and holidays as scheduled.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepares and cooks meals according to established recipes and approved menus.
• Complies with quality and consistency of the food to include food temperatures, portion control, palatability and attractiveness of food.
• Perform defined work routines using various dietary utensils, supplies and equipment as assigned by supervisor.
• Required to assist in the cleaning of the kitchen equipment, food storage area, and supply areas according to the community schedule.
• Required to remove garbage from the kitchen and to clean trash containers.
• Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies.
• Committed to working with residents and families to develop and implement strategies that promote person-centered care.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• Successful completion of ServSafe certification course preferred.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Minimum of three years' experience as a Cook in a food service environment required.
• Must be detail oriented and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Must be willing to assist at another community for coverage or help during an emergency; travel will be reimbursed.
