Job summary

Churchill Downs Incorporated is seeking a friendly server for Ocean Downs Casino in Berlin, MD. The role pays $6.00 per hour plus tips, with opportunities to work a lively, guest-focused environment on a fast-paced floor.

You will greet guests, take orders, process payments via a POS system, and help ensure a memorable dining experience while maintaining compliance with Maryland liquor laws and company policies.

Qualifications

• Previous server experience preferred.
• English communication sufficient to perform the job.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and communicate with guests, coworkers and management.
• Must obtain a Maryland State Lottery Agency license as required for all gaming employees.

Responsibilities

• Creates a fun-filled, entertaining environment with service excellence at the forefront.
• Greets and serves guests in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Operates the P.O.S. System and handles cash and payments accurately.
• Records all Food & Beverage revenues and settlements.
• Ensures area is clean and sanitary and manages inventory as needed.
• Relays guest feedback to management and supports guest relations.

JOB SUMMARY

The pay for this position is $6.00 / hour + Tips. Exciting opportunity to work at Ocean Downs Casino only 10 minutes from the beautiful beaches and boardwalk of Ocean City, MD! ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Creates and ensures a fun-filled, entertaining and exciting environment where the flawless delivery and execution of service excellence is paramount.
• Greets and serves guest in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Operates P.O.S. System and makes accurate cash and financial transactions.
• Accurately records all Food & Beverage revenues and corresponding receipt of money, credit cards, complimentaries and coupon settlements.
• Prepares all settlement paperwork in a consistent and organized manner.
• Monitors alcohol consumption by guest, adhering strictly to Company Policy & Maryland Law.
• Maintains inventory and restocks all items and products in area as needed.
• Ensures that work area is clean and sanitary.
• Relays all guest compliments and complaints to Food & Beverage Management.
• Promotes outstanding customer relations.
• Promotes honesty and trust among the team.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Previous server experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the necessary functions of this position.
• Ability to consistently comprehend, retain and execute written, verbal and demonstrated directions, explanations and guidance.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and effectively communicate with guests, co-workers and management.
• Must be able to obtain and keep a License issued by the Maryland State Lottery Agency required of all Gaming Establishment employees.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

• Must be able to lift twenty (20) pounds without difficulty, repeatedly.
• Must be able to sit, walk or stand for extended periods of time without difficulty.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on business needs which includes days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
