Job summary

Golden Nugget Las Vegas is seeking an energetic Server to provide exceptional dining experiences in a high-energy casino hotel setting. You will greet guests, take orders, and deliver food and beverages with accuracy and pace.

Position involves explaining menu items, handling payments, and maintaining a friendly, professional demeanor. Weekends and holidays required; tipping is an important part of compensation and growth opportunities exist within the team.

Qualifications

  • One year of restaurant or customer service is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive attitude and enjoyment of hospitality industry.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure.
  • Strong multitasking and time management abilities.
  • Attention to detail for accurate order-taking and payment processing.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage menus including dietary restrictions and allergies.
  • Basic math skills for handling payments and calculating tips.
  • Flexible to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods.

  • Refill drinks and clear plates during dining experiences.
  • Provide attentive and personalized service, anticipating guest needs.
  • Handle guest complaints professionally and raise to management when needed.
  • Collaborate with servers, hosts, and kitchen staff for smooth service.
  • Present checks and process payments accurately and quickly.
  • Comply with FLSA tip regulations and company policies on tipping.

Overview

A Server’s primary responsibility is to ensure exceptional dining experiences for guests. You will be the face of the restaurant, interacting directly with customers to take orders, provide menu recommendations, and deliver food and beverages promptly and accurately. A friendly and professional demeanor, attention to detail, and ability to multitask will contribute to the overall success of the establishment.

Responsibilities
  • Greet guests and welcome them in a friendly manner
  • Take drink orders and follow policy regarding service of alcohol
  • Communicate specials or promotions and make recommendations based on guests' preferences and dietary restrictions
  • Answer questions regarding the menu, including allergies or special requests
  • Servers must know the menu and be able to explain menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods to guests
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests and enter them into the POS system
  • Coordinate with the kitchen staff to ensure all orders are prepared and delivered on time and together
  • Serve food and beverages promptly and efficiently, ensuring accuracy and good presentation, and timed so the entire table is served within a reasonable time frame
  • Check on guests during their meals to ensure satisfaction and address requests/concerns
  • Refill drinks and clear plates as needed during guest’s dining experience
  • Provide attentive and personalized service, anticipating guests' needs
  • Handle guest complaints or concerns professionally and bring issues to management
  • Collaborate with fellow servers, hosts, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service
  • Present checks to guests and handle payment transactions accurately and quickly
  • As a tipped employee you will be subject to federal (Federal Labor Standards Act – 'FLSA') and state laws relating to tip regulations. This includes your compliance with properly reporting tips, contributing to a tip pool (where allowed by law), and following company’s policies regarding tasks performed while in a tipped position.
