Job summary

The Rose Gaming Resort in Dumfries, VA is seeking a Food Server to deliver attentive service in our full-service restaurant. The role supports guests by explaining menu items, wines, and specials while maintaining Rose standards of service and safety.

You will manage orders, operate the POS, and help ensure a welcoming dining atmosphere. Salary starts at $10/hour with a standard set of duties including tray service, seating guests, and staying compliant with licensing and regulatory

Qualifications

• Attend required training sessions offered by the Company.
• Obtain and retain required license(s).
• Perform duties in compliance with local laws and regulations.
• Ensure minors cannot gamble, drink or Tobacco in gambling areas.
• Know department policies, ordinances and procedures.
• Understand property programs addressing problem gaming.
• Report any acts of wrongdoing.

Responsibilities

• Take food and beverage orders from guests.
• Describe Chef’s specials and wines, answer menu questions with confidence.
• Deliver food orders to guests in a full-service restaurant.
• Carry a 27” oval tray containing hot and cold items.
• Perform steps of service and maintain restaurant standards.
• Practice safety and sanitation techniques.
• Obtain TIPS certificate and Guest Service Training within 90 days.
• Perform wine service: describe, open, and present wine.
• Bus tables, seat guests, do side work and follow management directions.
• Provide excellent service and guest experience.
• Communicate basic knowledge about the casino resort.
• Follow Rose Standards of Service and Food & Beverage standards.
• Navigate POS system; place orders, input modifiers, split checks, provide table numbers and guest counts.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Food and Beverage Manager, the server will ensure continued excellent customer service by utilizing the Rose Standards of Service while interacting with our guests and ensure they have great dining experience. At all times, servers are expected to be attentive to our guest needs, making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Take food and beverage orders from guests.
• Server must be able to describe Chef’s special, featured wines/spirits, promotions, and thoroughly answer menu questions with confidence.
• Deliver food orders to guests dining in a full-service restaurant.
• Carry a 27” oval tray in a traditional restaurant style containing hot and cold food items.
• Perform steps of service and maintain restaurant service standards.
• Practice Safety and Sanitation techniques.
• Obtain TIPS certificate and Guest Service Training within 90 days of employment.
• Perform proper table side wine service. Capable of describing, opening, and presenting wine.
• Perform tasks including bussing tables, seating guests, side work, and duties assigned by management.
• Provide excellent service for the guests.
• Communicate basic knowledge about the casino resort.
• Follow The Rose Standards of Services and Food & Beverage standards.
• Navigate through POS system and perform transactions such as placing food and beverage orders, typing in modifiers, splitting checks, and providing accurate table numbers and guest count.

Required Skills And Abilities

• Attend required training sessions offered by the Company.
• Obtain and retain required license(s).
• Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
• Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
• Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member’s department.
• Have knowledge of the Property’s programs to address problem gaming.
• Report any acts of wrongdoing of which the Team Member may have knowledge.

Education And Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Must possess advanced knowledge of liquor/beer/wine product and mixology.
• Must possess knowledge of current OSHA and Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) regulations.
• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Must be able to stand for longer than 8 hours.
• The ability to lift, push and pull up to 30 pounds.

Certificates, Licenses, And Registrations

• Virginia Racing Commission License
• Valid Driver’s License with a minimum of three (3) years driving experience.
