Job summary

BrightFarms in Macon, GA is hiring a Food Safety Technician to assist in daily cleaning and sanitation of the harvesting and packing room. This full-time manual labor role requires adherence to sanitation SOPs, proper PPE, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate values safety, reliability, and teamwork, with 1 year of related experience preferred. Overtime and weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of related experience in a food manufacturing or agricultural environment preferred but not required.
• Great attendance and dedication to the craft – the team heavily depends on one another to be on time and accountable.
• Flexibility to work the hours necessary to meet BrightFarms needs which may include overtime hours, daily and/or weekend.
• Ability to follow instructions, cooperate and collaborate with all employees and management.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, climb, and lift up to 40lbs.
• Open to applicants who do not have a high school diploma/GED.
• Detail oriented and organized.

Responsibilities

• Daily cleaning of machinery
• Assembling and dissembling specific machinery at the end of the product run
• Perform all duties on the daily and weekly cleaning schedules
• Follow protocols for food safe environment in accordance with sanitation SOPs
• Wear personal protective equipment required in the facility
• Be able to get the job done with minimal supervision
