Actalent in Chicago, IL is seeking a Food Safety Specifications Coordinator to support FSQA and compliance programs across teams. You will work with SAP PLM for ingredient analysis and verify records to ensure regulatory compliance.

The contract role offers a hybrid work arrangement (one day on-site, four days remote) with first shift options between 7am-5pm. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in the food industry and a science degree.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Food Safety Specifications Coordinator. This role involves ensuring the highest standards of food safety and compliance within our organization. You will work closely with various teams to support and enhance our food safety and quality assurance programs.

Responsibilities

• Review ingredient formulas and documentation.
• Collaborate with food safety specialists to support commercialization projects.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in food manufacturing and food safety processes.
• Experience with SAP PLM or similar database software.
• Knowledge in food chemistry and laboratory practices.
• Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Bachelor's degree in Science, Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in the food industry.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in regulatory, labeling, product development, or quality is beneficial.
• 2 years’ experience in Regulatory, Quality, or Research and Development, CPG industry preferred.
• Detail-oriented with strong time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to take initiative.
• Solution-oriented and proactive in seeking guidance.

Work Environment

This position offers a flexible work environment with one day on-site, typically Thursdays, and remote work for four days a week. The first shift hours can be adjusted between 7am-3pm, 8am-4pm, or 9am-5pm. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
