Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Regulatory Specialist II in the Chicago area to prepare regulatory documents, answer technical inquiries, and manage supplier documentation. You will support domestic and international regulatory topics, ensure data entry accuracy, and help evolve internal regulatory programs while collaborating with a 7-member team.

The role includes on-site audits, Kosher/Halal certifications, and involvement in new product/supplier qualifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of regulatory experience in the food/flavors industry.
• Familiarity with US CFR regulations (Titles 21 and 7).
• Knowledge of Kosher and Halal regulations.
• Experience with audits.

Responsibilities

• Prepare standard to advanced regulatory documents.
• Complete detailed customer questionnaires and answer technical product inquiries promptly.
• Support the collection, organization, and review of raw material supplier documentation.
• Ensure accurate data entry into applicable systems.
• Research domestic and international regulatory topics and regulations.
• Contribute to the evolution of internal regulatory programs to increase efficiency and reliability.
• Aid in the development and training of others within the organization.
• Assist with on-site audits and internal programs for facility certifications including Kosher, Halal, Organic, and Fairtrade.
• Support the development of new products and new supplier qualifications.
• Maintain professional, courteous communication with both internal teams and external customers.
• Participate in the organoleptic evaluation program.
• Execute additional duties and departmental projects as needed.

Job Title: Regulatory Specialist II

Job Description

As a Regulatory Specialist II, you will be responsible for preparing standard to advanced regulatory documents, completing detailed customer questionnaires, and answering technical product inquiries in a timely manner. You will support the collection, organization, and review of raw material supplier documentation while ensuring data is accurately entered into applicable systems. Additionally, you will research various domestic and international regulatory topics and regulations to stay ahead of industry shifts and emerging market trends, ensuring internal compliance and determining potential impacts on organizational processes.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 3 years of experience working in regulatory (food or flavours industry only).
• Familiarity with various US Code of Federal regulations, including Titles 21 and 7.
• Knowledge of non-governmental agency rules such as Kosher and Halal.
• Experience with audits.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Power BI).
• Experience with Product Vision, TraceGains, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and Intelligent Authoring is highly preferred.

Work Environment

The position offers a hybrid schedule with 3 days on-site. You will be part of a team of 7 regulatory members.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Wauconda, IL.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $87500.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
