Job summary

Seaboard Foods in Guymon, OK is seeking a Food Safety Specialist to join the HACCP team. You will ensure HACCP program implementation, maintain records, and support safety and regulatory compliance across the facility.

The role requires knowledge of food safety systems and the ability to work with FSQA monitors to verify checks and procedures. This is a hands-on position in a processing plant environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Preferred: 2-year college degree or higher.
• Experience in meat processing or closely related industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain records for product quality, regulatory compliance and HACCP documentation.
• Learn all areas of the Food Safety Department.
• Proactively verify and validate documentation of HACCP, Animal Welfare, SSOPs, and SPS.
• Understand federal, state and local regulations affecting food safety.
• Review food safety and quality assurance systems; ensure USDA requirements are met.
• Assist in writing and posting documentation to ensure regulatory and customer compliance.
• Support FSQA needs related to overnight sanitation, overtime reduction, pre-operational inspections and data collection.

We have an exciting Food Safety Specialist opportunity in our Guymon Processing Plant. In this highly impactful role, you will be a key member of the HACCP team. The Food Safety Specialist is responsible for understanding and implementation of the company's HACCP programs/procedures and any other Food Safety supporting programs/procedures or activities. This can and will include observation of FSQA monitors and verifiers performing Food Safety checks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain accurate records to assure consistency of product quality, compliance to regulatory agency requirements and documentation of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) process.
• Must be able to learn all areas of the Food Safety Department.
• Proactively verify and validate documentation of current food safety programs related to all aspects of the facility Food Safety/Regulatory Compliance programs such as Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), Animal Welfare Program, Sanitation Standard Operation Procedures (SSOP's), and Sanitation Performance Standards (SPS).
• Maintain an excellent understanding of new and current federal, state and local regulations that affect food safety requirements associated with manufacturing, processing and packing, distribution etc., (HACCP, SSOPs, GMP's).
• Review and scrutinize all aspects of the food safety and quality assurance systems. Ensure the USDA regulatory requirements are met.
• Assist in the overall accountability of ensuring the food safety and humane handling system documentation are properly written, documented, and posted to ensure regulatory and customer compliance and the production of high quality, safe, and wholesome product.
• Support FSQA needs as they relate to overnight sanitation, overtime reduction, pre-operationalinspections & data collection.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Required:

• High School or GED.

Preferred:

• 2 year or higher college degree, preferred.
• One or more years' experience in meat processing or closely related industry is preferred.
