The candidate must communicate effectively across all organizational levels and serve as the first line of advice on best practices with food processors and their suppliers. Experience in the food processing industry, especially in plant hygiene and sanitation within a food manufacturing environment, is essential. A high level of technical skill is required to contribute meaningfully to customer engagements.

Responsibilities

1. Assess regional and global food processors and provide objective, world-class recommendations using the CFS Preventive Plan Continuum.
2. Support troubleshooting and mitigation of food safety challenges.
3. Lead training sessions at the CFS Institute, including presentations and breakout sessions for a global audience in Sanitation Essentials and Hygienic Design.
4. Conduct on-site customer workshop trainings.
5. Collaborate with Intralox account teams to support customer strategies in Food Safety, Sanitation, and Hygienic Design.
6. Work with food processors to implement recommendations effectively.
7. Communicate efficiently with personnel at all levels within customer organizations.
8. Train and advise equipment manufacturers on Hygienic Design Principles and strategies.
9. Contribute to the development of future training and support offerings, including digital formats.
10. Engage actively in the food industry community through conferences, tradeshows, and speaking engagements.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
2. Passion for Hygiene/Sanitation and Food Safety.
3. Experience in the food processing industry (Bakery, Meat, Poultry, Dairy, Produce) with a focus on plant hygiene and sanitation.
4. Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and sales contexts.
5. Excellent training and presentation skills, capable of explaining food safety concepts to non-specialists.
6. Ability to prioritize, manage resources, and oversee projects independently.
7. Teamwork skills, both as a leader and team member.
8. Solid understanding of Sanitation Concepts and ability to collaborate with microbiologists, sanitation managers, engineers, and management.
9. Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, concepts, and working with contractors and chemical companies.
10. Understanding of process control and general food manufacturing principles.
11. Innovative mindset to develop and implement new sanitation ideas and processes.
12. Strong knowledge of HACCP.
13. Willingness to travel 55-60%, including international travel as needed.
14. Excellent English communication skills; fluency in Spanish or Japanese is a plus.
