Job summary

Fortrex is seeking a meticulous Food Safety Sanitor to join our team and uphold the highest cleanliness and safety standards in our food production processes. You will contribute to our mission of delivering top-quality products and work under the supervision of leads and management to ensure sanitation procedures are consistently followed.

The role involves standing for long periods, lifting hoses and equipment, and operating in environments with chemicals, for which PPE is provided.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to take direction from managers and be accountable for actions.
• Safety-conscious with attention to detail.
• Able to work in extreme temperatures (wet, hot, and/or cold).

Responsibilities

• Perform sanitation labor following the eight steps of sanitation.
• Work cooperatively with leads and management to ensure procedures are followed.
• Frequently lift hoses, equipment, and chemical containers.
• Wear employer-specified personal protective equipment (gloves, face shield, eye goggles, aprons, boots, and safety glasses).
• Work in environments with chemical exposure (PPE required).
• Remain standing, lifting, and crouching for extended periods (often all night).
• Perform all tasks safely.
• Use lock-out tag-out (LOTO) procedures.
• Complete any other duties as assigned.
