Job summary

Maker's Pride is seeking a Quality Technician to ensure food safety within the Quality Monitoring Scheme and to uphold regulatory, customer, and company quality initiatives. The role involves hourly quality checks, documenting results, and collaborating across departments.

The position requires attention to detail, basic math, and familiarity with MS Office. Working knowledge of HACCP and 5-S is desirable; the job is on a 3rd shift from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM with overtime on weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Post High School education preferred.
• 3 months of as a Quality Assurance Technician required.
• Preferred – 1 year of QA Technician or related experience.
• Good attention to detail and ability to spot defects on fast-moving lines.
• Basic understanding of machinery operation as it relates to quality.
• Good verbal and written communication; Spanish is a plus.
• Able to perform simple math including fractions, ratios and percentages.
• Able to work with co-workers and other departments.
• Experience with MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality checks on production lines hourly per line (often 3 lines).
• Report discrepancies to Supervisor/Quality Manager (HACCP, Allergen, Sanitation, GMP, Foreign Material, HOLD).
• Ensure products meet legal and customer requirements as per Bluebook.
• Complete paperwork daily and maintain 5-S and cleanliness.
• Confidential handling of operations data.
• Maintain instruments and equipment; store samples and retentions.
• Follow Hold Procedures for non-conforming materials.
• Perform HACCP and Preventive Controls checks as needed.
• Assist in test runs and new product trials.
• Conduct other audits/inspections as required.
• Perform other duties as required by supervisor.
