Job summary

Nexus Employment Solutions Plus in the Skokie/Niles, IL area is seeking a Food Safety & Quality Assurance Technician for a full-time third-shift role. You’ll be the on-site guardian of product integrity, verifying labels, performing in-process inspections, and stopping a line if necessary to protect safety.

Responsibilities include GMP observations, scale checks, metal detector audits, allergen controls, and QA documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; college coursework a plus.
• 1+ year QA/QC or operations in food manufacturing.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline.
• Clear written and verbal communication; safety-first mindset.
• Self-starter who works independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

• Observe GMP practices and verify labels in real time.
• Run in-process inspections and record weights, lot/date codes.

• Place materials on hold when quality or safety issues arise.
• Lead QA audits and maintain accurate QA documentation.
• Onboard and train new QA teammates.

Food Safety & Quality Assurance TechnicianYou start your shift when the plant gets quiet and precision matters most. On third shift in the Skokie/Niles, IL area, you’re the steady hand that keeps a food manufacturing operation compliant, consistent, and safe.
