Job Description:

The Food Safety Quality Assurance (FSQA) Supervisor is an integral part of the Salad and Go Production and Distribution Centers. As the FSQA Supervisor, you will assist the FSQA Management in implementing and executing Food Safety programs. In this role, you will perform Food Safety audits while developing corrective action plans based on audit findings. The QA Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of the QMS (Quality Management Systems) and lead the team in record keeping and organization, maintaining robust documentation guidelines and supporting evidence for each control step and process.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage schedules for FSQA technicians.
  2. Perform weekly/monthly audits of food safety at the facility and develop corrective actions, including following up with different departments to verify completion.
  3. Develop SOPs and training programs based on SOPs.
  4. Maintain inventories of Food Safety and Quality Management items.
  5. Develop weekly reports on KPIs of Food Safety, Safety, and training.
  6. Develop and evaluate Process audits and checklists in Redzone Software.
  7. Maintain records in QMS files.
  8. Manage schedules for Annual, Semi-annual, Monthly Verification/Validations.
  9. Review process records and evaluate the work of FSQA technicians.
  10. Maintain cleanliness in compliance with quality control procedures, OSHA, FDA, and USDA regulations to ensure the highest standards of food safety.
  11. Properly wear and maintain all required PPE, including gloves, hairnets, face masks, and other safety gear, as mandated by OSHA and company policies.
  12. Adapt to changing production demands and meet daily performance goals.
  13. Work independently and as part of a team in a structured production environment.

Requirements:

  1. 3+ years of experience in a Quality Assurance role, preferably in the food processing industry.
  2. Ability to lead and provide guidance to the plant team and display leadership in all aspects of quality, including product evaluation, consumer complaints, documentation, reporting, and compliance with standards such as HACCP, GFSI, FSMA, etc.
  3. Strong understanding of sanitation practices and verification effectiveness.
  4. Excellent time management skills and ability to handle multiple responsibilities.
  5. Critical thinking and self-starting capabilities.
  6. Good written and verbal communication skills.
  7. English/Spanish speaking preferred.
  8. Enjoy working in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  9. Food Safety or Environmental Safety Qualification.
  10. Ability to travel up to 25%.
  11. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
  12. Lead with compassion and integrity.
  13. Ability to work efficiently at a fast pace, maintaining accuracy and consistency.
  14. Perform duties in refrigerated conditions (35-40°F) for extended periods.
  15. Follow all safety guidelines, GMPs, and OSHA regulations.
  16. Safely lift, carry, push, and move up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
  17. Remain on feet for most of the shift, performing repetitive motions as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree.
  2. Experience with Statistical Process Control in food manufacturing.
  3. Familiarity with BRC, FSMA, HACCP, HARPC, SQF, FDA, USDA standards.
  4. Experience in Produce and RTE Food manufacturing environments.
  5. Extensive knowledge of computer systems, including Excel macros, pivots, Access, Tableau, etc.
  6. Extensive microbiology/chemistry knowledge of food products.
