Qualifications

Job Description:

The Food Safety Quality Assurance (FSQA) Supervisor is an essential part of the Salad and Go Production and Distribution Centers. As the FSQA Supervisor, you will assist the FSQA Management in implementing and executing Food Safety programs. Your responsibilities include performing Food Safety audits, developing corrective action plans based on audit findings, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the QMS (Quality Management Systems), and leading the team in record keeping and documentation to ensure compliance and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage schedules for FSQA technicians.
  2. Perform weekly/monthly audits of food safety at the facility, develop corrective actions, and verify completion with relevant departments.
  3. Develop SOPs and training programs based on these SOPs.
  4. Maintain inventories of Food Safety and Quality Management items.
  5. Prepare weekly reports on KPIs related to Food Safety, Safety, and Training.
  6. Develop and evaluate process audits and checklists using Redzone Software.
  7. Maintain records in QMS files.
  8. Manage schedules for annual, semi-annual, and monthly verifications and validations.
  9. Review process records and evaluate the work of FSQA technicians.
  10. Ensure cleanliness and compliance with OSHA, FDA, USDA regulations, and internal quality control procedures.
  11. Wear and maintain all required PPE as mandated by OSHA and company policies.
  12. Adapt to changing production demands and meet daily performance goals.
  13. Work independently and as part of a team in a structured production environment.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a Quality Assurance role, preferably in food processing.
  2. Ability to lead and guide plant teams, demonstrating leadership across product evaluation, documentation, reporting, and compliance programs such as HACCP, GFSI, FSMA, etc.
  3. Strong understanding of sanitation practices and verification effectiveness.
  4. Excellent time management skills and ability to handle multiple responsibilities.
  5. Critical thinking and self-starting attitude.
  6. Good written and verbal communication skills.
  7. English/Spanish bilingual skills are preferred.
  8. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  9. Food Safety or Environmental Safety Qualification.
  10. Ability to travel up to 25% as required.
  11. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook).
  12. Leadership with compassion and integrity.
  13. Ability to perform tasks efficiently in refrigerated conditions (35-40°F).
  14. Ability to lift, carry, push, and move up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
  15. Remain standing for extended periods, performing repetitive motions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree.
  2. Experience with Statistical Process Control in food manufacturing.
  3. Familiarity with BRC, FSMA, HACCP, HARPC, SQF, FDA, USDA standards.
  4. Experience in Produce and RTE Food manufacturing environments.
  5. Extensive knowledge of computer systems, including Excel macros, pivots, Access, Tableau, and related applications.
  6. Deep understanding of microbiology and chemistry of food products.
