Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Food Safety Operations Manager for a contract role based in Seattle, WA. The candidate will oversee a North American food safety program, manage cross-site escalations, and liaise with senior leadership to drive corrective actions and policy implementation.

The role requires 3+ years in food safety/quality, strong regulatory knowledge, and up-to-date proficiency with Microsoft Office. Significant travel and weekend on-call coverage are expected as part of the job.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of managing food safety and quality in a large-scale retail or manufacturing environment
• Experience leveraging technology to drive process improvements
• Experience in program or project management
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
• Experience interacting with local food safety regulators
• Experience applying Food Code requirements across local, state and federal food regulations
• Travel up to 80% of the time

Responsibilities

• Maintain a robust set of compliance metrics and KPIs to measure output performance, track progress and identify areas for improvement in food safety programs
• Execute rapid response protocols for food safety incidents to investigate, resolve, and document comprehensive corrective actions
• Project manage complex, largescale food safety escalations across multiple sites, establishing clear action plans, tracking deliverables, and driving accountability for timely closure while maintaining communication with senior leadership
• Demonstrate ability to influence and manage relationships with diverse stakeholders from site operations to senior leadership
• Analyze escalation patterns and root causes to identify systemic issues informing audit priorities
• Participate in an on-call rotation including weekend coverage with up to 60 travel to support food safety incidents
• Compose and edit detailed business review documents to communicate food safety improvement initiatives
• Leverage knowledge of CFR, FSMA and FDA guidelines to ensure audit processes and corrective actions align with current standards
