Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a detail-oriented lab assistant for our Food Safety Laboratory in Storm Lake, IA. The role emphasizes precision in executing analytical, microbiological, or quality system procedures and accurate data collection to support ISO records and quality compliance.

The candidate should have a high school diploma (degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science or related fields preferred) and be prepared for an on-site A Shift with potential background checks.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• College-level coursework or a degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, and/or Physical Sciences is preferred.
• Laboratory Experience Is Preferred.
• General knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office applications is required.
• Good Verbal And Written Communication Skills Are Required.

Responsibilities

• Perform multiple analytical, microbiological, or quality system procedures within the Food Safety Laboratory.
• Maintain ISO records for process control and comply with quality system and safety requirements.
• Initial proficiency testing must be completed with competency verified at least annually thereafter.
• Demonstrate continued proficiency and growth following training.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.
