Job summary

Sofitel Philadelphia, located on Rittenhouse Square, seeks a Food Runner/Service Assistant to welcome guests and ensure a smooth dining experience from greeting to farewell.

You will work with the Food & Beverage team to maintain food quality, presentation, and timely service, engage with guests with warmth and professionalism, and support fellow team members during busy periods while embracing the brand’s French hospitality ethos.

Qualifications

• Must be flexible with schedule, including AM or PM shifts and weekends.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, exciting environment while working with diverse colleagues.
• Skilled in communicating with guests and colleagues with polished appearance and poised demeanor.
• Desire to learn and grow in a professional, chic luxury environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and ensure a warm, efficient dining experience from arrival to departure.
• Collaborate with Food & Beverage team to maintain food quality, presentation, and timely service.
• Engage with guests to create memorable dining experiences and assist team members as needed.
• Exercise good judgment to anticipate guests’ needs and address feedback.
• Support on-floor operations and coordinate with bartenders, servers, and managers during service.

What you will be doing:

• Work with the Food & Beverage team in the heart of the housein ensuring quality of food, food presentation, timeliness of orders, and efficiency of service happens seamlessly. At times, you may be required to work autonomously and will be responsible for resolving any quest issues you encounter.
• Showcasing your unique personality and skills, you will engage with guests to create a memorable dining experience!
• Collaborate with team members on the floor; bartenders, servers, hostess and managers. Provide support for your team members throughout service.
• Exercise good judgment and intuition to anticipate guests’ needs. Take initiative to connect with guests, inquire about their experience, and ensure their satisfaction.
• Be empowered to lead operations and address guest feedback.

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

• Must be flexible with schedule. Able to work AM or PM shift as needed. Weekends a must!
• A positive, can-do attitude and an ability to multi-task in a fast paced, exciting environment while working alongside a diverse group of colleagues
• Skilled in communicating with guests and colleagues with a polished appearance and a poised demeanor
• Ability to naturally engage with guests and show empathy; have genuine care and concern for both the well-being of our guests and fellow team members
• A desire to learn and grow in a professional, fun and chic environment!
