The Omni Charlottesville Hotel offers 208 beautifully appointed guestrooms and suites featuring panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, along with a full-service restaurant and 12,000 square feet of meeting space. The Omni is located in the heart of downtown at the base of the downtown pedestrian mall. Our location offers a wide variety of local restaurants, pubs, entertainment venues, or even just to take a scenic walk and enjoy the culture of Charlottesville.

Job Description

Omni Charlottesville Hotel is seeking a Food Runner/Room Service Server to join The Conservatory team at our brand-new upscale restaurant.

Responsibilities

1. Bring food from the kitchen to tables to support the servers.
2. Assist servers during meal period.
3. Must have knowledge of all menu items.
4. Greet guests in a warm and friendly manner.
5. Provide water service to our guests.
6. Assist the server with pre-busing of plates.
7. Assisting servers in any capacity to ensure guest satisfaction.
8. Perform any additional duties assigned by supervisor or management.
9. Provide unique, authentic and memorable experiences for all dining guests.
10. Knowledge of the menu offered and ability to explain the items on the menu.
11. Answer phone within 3 rings, follow phone etiquette and input orders into Micros.
12. Complete paperwork, ensure tickets are correct and closed out properly and drop cash after each scheduled shift.
13. Deliver food based on steps of service.
14. Be pleasant, smile and greet all guests, using surnames when obtained.
15. Be thoroughly familiar with responsibilities of IRD server.
16. Be thoroughly familiar with F&B menus and available promotions and options.
17. Station set-up and break-down, walk guest floors for trays in hallways and side-work.
18. Perform any other duties as assigned by Outlets Management.
19. Have knowledge of fine dining service.
20. Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure clean uniform and professional personal appearance; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
21. Assist where needed within F&B.

Qualifications

1. Must enjoy guest interaction.
2. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
3. Must be able to multitask.
4. Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period of time or for an entire shift.
5. Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects of moderate weight without assistance.
6. Must be able to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
7. Must have ServSafe Food Handlers and TIPS Alcohol Certification or be able to attain certification.
