Job summary

Four Winds Casinos Career Site is seeking a part-time on-site Food & Beverage Server in South Bend, IN. You will coordinate service with culinary and front-of-house, handle ticket orders, stock stations, and ensure guest satisfaction with a high standard of food quality and courtesy.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to obtain Indiana ATC server permit and complete training.

Description

SUMMARY:

Responsible for coordination and consolidation (with assistance from Culinary) of all outgoing food items from the kitchen, while assisting to providing dining service to guests in an efficient, courteous and professional manner, displaying a high standard of food quality and guest service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Accurately views ticket orders and assembles coursing accompaniments according to specifications.
  • Adheres to all recipes, specs, and control procedures prior to delivery of food items.
  • Liaison between front of house and back of house regarding ticket orders/requests, coordinating through the Chef on Duty.
  • Ensures all food accompaniments are properly stocked and stored throughout the shift.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary work area in full accordance with health regulations.
  • Performs and communicates necessary tasks to service guests; i.e. assisting with beverage refills and pre-bussing upon delivery of food items.
  • Maintains cleanliness of all side stations, responsible for stocking dishes, silverware, paper supplies and any other required items.
  • Answers guest questions and refers them, if necessary, to appropriate management personnel.
  • Monitors guest alcohol consumption and responds accordingly.
  • Maintains professional grooming and appearance.
  • Maintains sight line neatness and organization.
  • Sweeps or mops as necessary.
  • Assists other restaurant personnel with maintenance (side work, opening/closing duties) as necessary.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school or G.E.D preferred.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills required. Must possess or be able to obtain an active employee permit issued by the State of Indiana’s Alcohol and Tobacco Commission. Must complete an ATC approved server training program.

This position requires a Level 4 Gaming License.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense reasoning to variety of situations.
