Job summary

Hard Rock Cafe Honolulu is seeking a Food Runner to support servers by delivering guests' orders with a friendly, professional, and knowledgeable attitude. You will help maintain a clean server alley and expo area while assisting with beverages, condiments, and guest requests.

In this fast-paced cafe, you will stay calm, stay organized, and communicate clearly with kitchen and front-of-house staff. Some cross-training with servers and bussers is possible to ensure smooth service.

Responsibilities:

• Food Runners may be utilized at Hard Rock Cafe during high business volume.
• In addition to delivering guests' orders, they will assist servers in responding to the requests of our guests.
• The main responsibility of this position is to deliver food to guests in a friendly, professional and knowledgeable manner.
• Deliver food to guests quickly and efficiently.
• Deliver condiments and drinks as needed (to include alcoholic beverages).
• Refill beverages as needed.
• Respond to guest inquiries in a courteous and polite manner.
• Promptly and professionally, handle guest issues and communicates problems and concern to management.
• Maintain a clean and organized server alley and expo area.
• Stock ice and glassware on the server line.
• Pre-buss tables.
• Clean and reset dirty tables.
• Sweep the floor.
• Assist and communicate clearly with the kitchen staff and front of the house staff.

• Remain calm in a hectic, fast-paced atmosphere.
• Demonstrate a high level of organization, attention-to-detail and a sense-of-urgency.
• Display a positive and outwardly friendly attitude toward guests and co-workers.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to move throughout the corporate office and cafes during visits (standing, walking, kneeling, bending) for extended periods of time.
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
• Ability to make repeating movements of the arms, hands, and wrists.
• Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
• Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to work with hand above shoulders.
• Ability to occasionally, regularly, frequently move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 10 pounds.
• Ability to turn or twist body parts in a circular motion.
• Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud/noisy environment.
• Ability to travel via auto or airplane for long periods of time.

• Maintaining a well-groomed appearance (\"having a plan\").

• Practicing all general safety & sanitation standards.
• Recycling products, where possible.

• This Cafe may cross-train the Servers and the Bussers.
