- Stocking and wiping plates in assigned area.
- Keeping area clean and tidy at all times.
- Working as a liaison between the kitchen and the serving staff, conveying guest issues.
- Performing assigned side work.
- Identifying and briefly describing each plate to the guests accurately.
- Commanding full menu knowledge at all times and preparation methods.
- Assisting in bussing tables and marking appropriate silverware when necessary.
- Ensuring the cleanliness of all service stations.
- Reporting to the kitchen if table is properly cleared and marked or if guests are eating slowly.
- Effectively communicating with management and service staff to fulfill and address guest and employee needs.
- Working as a team, assisting all guests’ and employees’ needs and inquiries.
- Maintaining a positive attitude, showing enthusiasm, being humble, thankful, and respectful to all team members.
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Greeting guests warmly and making them feel welcome.
- Anticipating guests’ needs and responding with urgency.
- Maintaining professionalism to encourage guest return.
- Bidding farewell to guests, using their names when known, and encouraging future visits.
- Performing opening and closing duties as assigned per shift.
- Building personal clientele and encouraging weekly reservations.
- Adhering to weekly guest list requirements and developing the restaurant database.
- Participating in weekly marketing activities.
- Following all company, division, department policies, and health and safety regulations set by the County health department.
- Conforming to grooming standards, uniform, and jewelry policies.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- 2+ years experience as a Runner in high-volume or nightclub environments, or 6 months in fine dining preferred.
- Good communication skills; multilingual is a plus.
- Proficient in speaking and reading English.
- Positive, self-motivated, energetic, eager to learn.
- Ability to follow directions, make quick decisions, and stay organized under pressure.
- Professional grooming in line with standards.
- Ability to read and organize kitchen tickets, recognize dishes, and understand allergies and special orders.
- Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment such as toasters, refrigerators, slicers, etc.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and SNHD rules.
- Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs and walking on various surfaces for extended periods.
