Job summary

AC Hotel San Rafael is seeking a Food Runner to support our Food and Beverage team with energetic and guest-focused service. You will deliver food and drinks, assist servers, and help maintain a clean, well-stocked service area in a dynamic hotel environment.

The role emphasizes multitasking, strong communication, and knowledge of the menu and offerings. This on-site position includes benefits after the introductory period and requires a professional appearance and reliable outdoor work

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; minimum one year experience in upscale restaurant, hotel/resort, or private club preferred.
• Certification in liquor, wine, and food service (including Alcohol Awareness) preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and maintain a professional appearance.
• Strong multitasking and communication skills; must meet minimum age requirements and comply with responsible alcohol service standards.
• Physical ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Address guests by name and respond to requests to ensure complete service.
• Assist servers with presenting menus and making beverage/food suggestions.
• Prepare baskets with condiments; confirm orders are accurate and presentable; serve with a smile.
• Monitor supplies, maintain stock, and keep service areas clean and orderly; assist with tidying and timing communications to staff.
• Stay informed about the menu, drinks, specials, and unavailable items.
• Complete daily/weekly checklists and perform other duties as assigned.

As the Food and Beverage Runner, you’re the life of the party behind the scenes—delivering food and drinks with energy and flair! You’ll team up with servers and wow guests by making sure every glass is raised and every thirst quenched. Ready to shake things up and keep the good vibes flowing? Jump in and let the fun begin!

KEY SKILLS/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Guest Guru: Always address guests by name, observe and respond to requests, and ensure service is complete.
• Menu Master: Assist servers with presenting menus, answering questions, and making suggestions about food and beverage service.
• Presentation Pro: Prepare baskets with condiments and sides, confirm orders are accurate and presentable, and serve to guests with a smile.
• Operations Organizer: Monitor supplies, maintain stock, and keep kitchen/café areas clean and orderly. Assist servers in keeping service areas tidy, collect and maintain baskets, and relay kitchen times to servers/management.
• Knowledge Keeper: Stay informed about the menu, drinks, specials, and unavailable items.
• Checklist Champion: Complete daily/weekly checklists and perform other duties as assigned.
