Job summary

goop kitchen is seeking a Food Runner in San Diego to keep orders moving and support packing, ensuring accurate and timely deliveries to guests. You will greet guests, share enthusiasm for our menu, and help guests navigate with confidence while maintaining a clean, well-stocked dining area.

As our Food Runner, you keep food and orders moving — supporting the packing station, ensuring every order goes out accurately and on time, and keeping the dining room and patio guest-ready between visits.

Keep Things Running Smoothly and Show Up as a Team Player

• Preparing the lobby, patio, and restrooms for service at the start of each shift, ensuring all guest-facing areas are clean, stocked, and ready
• Confirming the packing station is fully stocked with bags, stickers, desserts, and beverages
• Wiping down all patio tables, chairs, and guest contact surfaces; confirming trash and recycling cans are lined and ready
• Ensuring restrooms are stocked with towels, hand soap, and trash liners at opening and maintained throughout the shift with checks every 30 minutes
• Keeping entry doors, glass, and windows clean and smudge-free throughout the shift
• Welcoming guests, opening doors, assisting with orders, and supporting a positive experience from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave
• Supporting dining area cleanliness continuously — removing trash, wiping down tables, and sweeping so every table looks guest-ready after each visit
• Assisting at the packing station to support accurate, timely order handoff as needed
• Closing out your shift by restocking all supplies, thoroughly cleaning restrooms, and ensuring the opening team is set up for success
• Contribute to a respectful, supportive team environment where everyone has each other's backs
• Take pride in your work and hold yourself to a high standard of professionalism

What We're Looking For

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Previous experience in a restaurant, fast-casual, or hospitality setting is a plus — but a great attitude and willingness to learn matter most
• Genuine love for food, people, and creating a great guest experience
• Strong communication skills and a warm, approachable personality
• Ability to stay calm, organized, and upbeat in a fast-paced environment
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

The Essential Functions of the Job:

• Standing / Walking: Ability to stand for extended periods
• Lifting / Carrying: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
• Bending / Reaching: Setting up and closing guest-facing areas, wiping tables and chairs, sweeping, restocking supplies, lining trash and recycling cans
• Repetitive motion / Manual dexterity: Continuous wiping, sweeping, packing station work, POS and guest-facing technology
