Food Runner Job Description

The Food Runner ensures the timely delivery of orders to maintain food freshness and high guest satisfaction. This role also involves verifying order accuracy, presenting food aesthetically, assisting with table clearing and resetting, and maintaining health code standards in food handling.

Responsibilities:

1. Report to the designated work area on time, dressed in proper uniform.
2. Prepare garnishing stations as requested by chefs at the start of each shift.
3. Deliver food promptly and accurately as per server requests and chef preparations.
4. Be knowledgeable about all menu items and ingredients.
5. Accurately interpret server requests and seek clarification when needed.
6. Ensure tables are properly set for the next course.
7. Deliver food accurately to the correct location and seat without auctioning.
8. Description of food should be accurate and clear when delivering to guests.
9. Assist in cleaning, detailing, and resetting tables.
10. Keep the work area neat, organized, and detailed during shifts.
11. Perform additional projects as assigned by the manager.
12. Attend departmental meetings.

Qualifications:

• Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
• Willing to work various shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, coordinating with servers and bussers.
• Capable of standing, walking, and engaging in physical activity for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs and navigate crowded spaces.
• Maintain a neat and professional appearance, embodying a genuine Spirit of Aloha and a desire to serve the public.
• TB clearance required.
• Must pass pre-employment screenings including criminal background checks, drug tests, and provide references.
