SUMMARY
The Food Runner role is an entry level position within Rolling Rock Club's Dining Room Team. This position requires a high level of communication as the liaison between the dining room and kitchen.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Demonstrates knowledge of basic dining room phone standards and etiquette.
- Can properly take and fulfill a room service order in or around the Clubhouse.
- Demonstrates knowledge of table numbers.
- Has understanding of Club layout and where all the rooms are located.
- Polishes all brass and copper pieces in the kitchen.
- Maintains knowledge of all a la carte menu items and private event menus.
- Ability to take food out to the dining locations.
- Sets the kitchen pass daily according to the prep list. Including but not limited to, plate wipes, fresh herbs, etc.
- Ability to be the liaison between the kitchen and dinning room.
- Ability to fire food orders under the direction of dining room management.
- Can organize tickets on the pass.
- Organizes plate ware, cloches, sauce pourers and other culinary related items before going out to the dining room.
- Maintains a clean working environment in all work stations.
- Cleans designated areas in accordance with established Club procedures.
- Ensure sideboards on stations are stocked with silverware, linens, and other related items as necessary.
- Be courteous to Members by addressing them by their name and proper marital status or professional designation.
- Maintains Club's standard of dress code and personal hygiene.
- Attend meetings and training courses as required by managers.
- Knowledge of upcoming Club events.
- Ability to operate a standard golf cart around Club property.
- Maintains regular, consistent and reliable attendance.
- Respects the Club's customs and traditions and works to preserve Rolling Rock Club as a "Quiet Country English Manor".
- Other related assignments as necessary.
QUALIFICATION
Required
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Must be available to work afternoons and evenings (3:00 - 11:00 pm) and Holidays.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Must be well-groomed and well-presented with no visible tattoos or multiple piercings.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Open to work weekends.
SKILLS
- Ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written.
- Must always be organized and maintain cleanliness of workstations.
- Ability to speak using clear and professional language.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to assist Members with questions about the Club, history, and surrounding areas.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time (8-10 hours consistently).
- Independent mobility through clubhouse.
- Hearing and talking sufficient to communicate with others.
- Availability and understanding that the position often requires hours in excess of a standard workweek (40-50 hours).
