Job summary

Four Seasons Lanai is seeking a Food Runner to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food from kitchen to guests with a focus on presentation and service excellence.

The role requires legal work authorization in the United States, the ability to stand for long periods, and routine duties to support dining room operations. On-island housing and meals are highlighted among benefits.

Qualifications

• Legal work authorization in United States.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs.
• Hawaii TB clearance card required (per Hawaii DOH).
• Hawaii Food Handler’s Card required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food orders promptly and accurately to guests, ensuring proper presentation and temperature.
• Coordinate food delivery between kitchen and dining room, sharing menu knowledge and providing friendly guest interactions.
• Assist with dining room operations by clearing and resetting tables and supporting service staff.
• Complete opening and closing duties, including restocking beverages, polishing ware, and setting up service stations.
• Maintain knowledge of food and beverage offerings to support service standards and guest inquiries.
• Support restaurant setup and adjustments during busy periods to maintain guest satisfaction.

FOOD RUNNER

Sensei Lāna’i, A Four Seasons Resort, is looking for a Food Runner who shares a passion for excellence and who infuses enthusiasm into everything they do. Our teams’ have the opportunity to shape our guest experience by providing exceptional knowledge of the Resort and exemplifying the Golden Rule in each interaction. Work authorization required.

What You’ll Do

The Food Runner ensures timely and accurate delivery of food from the kitchen to guests, supporting smooth service flow and an exceptional dining experience through attention to detail, quality presentation, and teamwork. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Deliver food orders promptly and accurately to the correct guests, ensuring order completeness, proper presentation, temperature, and compliance with modifications or allergen requests
• Serve as a liaison between the kitchen and dining room by coordinating food delivery, communicating menu knowledge, and providing friendly, professional guest interactions that enhance the dining experience
• Assist with dining room operations by clearing and resetting tables, supporting service team members, and helping maintain an organized and guest-ready environment
• Complete opening and closing duties, including restocking beverages and supplies, polishing silverware and glassware, and setting up and breaking down service stations
• Maintain knowledge of food and beverage offerings, including coffee, tea, and specialty beverages, to support service standards and guest inquiries
• Support restaurant setup and service flow by arranging tables and chairs, maintaining cleanliness in service areas, and assisting with operational needs during busy periods

What To Bring

• Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in United States
• The hospitality business functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four (24) hours a day and scheduled days and times may vary based on need. Holidays and weekends availability is required.
• Required by the Hawaii State Department of Health to obtain a Tuberculous (TB) clearance card
• Hawaii Food Handler’s Card is required for this role
• Maui Liquor Card Preferred, but not required
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50lbs, and push/pull as needed during shifts
