Job summary

Whole Foods Market is hiring for a receiving associate to help process product deliveries, stock backrooms, and maintain a secure, organized receiving area. You will follow all safety procedures, verify deliveries, and coordinate with team members to keep operations smooth.

The role requires lifting, standing for extended periods, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights/weekends as needed. New team members receive comprehensive training and access to Whole Benefits.

Qualifications

• Stand and walk for extended periods up to 4 hours without a break.
• Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders.
• Know and practice proper lifting techniques.
• Bend and lift loads not to exceed 50 pounds.
• Push and pull carts weighing up to 100 pounds unassisted.
• Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and manipulation.
• Ability to bend/twist neck and waist, reach above/below shoulders, and squat.
• Ability to lift/carry 10 pounds regularly and 11–25 pounds intermittently.
• Communicate and maintain safety standards; work well with others.

Responsibilities

• Assume primary responsibility of processing all product deliveries.
• Process deliveries in a timely manner with attention to detail and procedures.
• Ensure receiving supplies are filled and maintained.
• Maintain backstock area and cooler; keep receiving area secure.
• Break down and organize designated loads; stock refrigerated items.
• Distribute received merchandise or notify team of arrival.
• Establish and maintain merchandise return/transfer area.
• Document product transfers and waste using appropriate forms.
• Follow health and sanitation procedures and safe work practices.
• Operate equipment safely and practice proper lifting techniques.
• Report hazards and incidents to Team Leader immediately.
• Communicate with Team Members about receiving and operations.
• Attend department, store and training meetings; answer calls with etiquette.
• Develop working knowledge of all department vendors; verify deliveries and variances.
• Correct discrepancies using proper procedure; assist stocking product.
• File all completed paperwork; record time accurately on the time clock.
