Job summary

Balchem Corp. is seeking temporary help to support its Food and Beverage R&D PD&A team in Bridgeton, MO. The position reports to the Bridgeton PD&A Manager but will work on site with, and take direction from, the Inclusion Scientist in Defiance, OH.

Tasks span new product development, process improvement, and analytical work across lab, pilot plant, and manufacturing environments. The role emphasizes development activities, material qualification, and application development, with a wide variety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or other science-related field.
• Strong interest in food is desirable but not required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to think critically.
• Highly self-motivated individual comfortable working independently and able to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with computer skills, word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation applications; able to learn new applications.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and follow all safety policies; champion Balchem safety programs.
• Follow GMP protocols and regulatory requirements (FDA compliance).
• Assist Product Development with inventory, shipping samples, and lab cleanliness.
• Support raw material collection, ingredient prep, sample prep, and analytical testing (benchtop to pilot scale).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work environment may vary with different temperatures, noise, and large production machinery.
