Job summary

PLZ Corp is seeking an R&D Food Chemist II to develop and optimize food formulations, evaluate raw materials, and manage regulatory documentation. You will prepare PDS, nutritional information, and label content while collaborating with cross-functional teams and customers.

Responsibilities include DOE-based experimentation, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with SQF, HACCP, GMP, and FDA food safety requirements. Strong documentation and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Food Chemistry, Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry or related field required.
• 3–5 years of relevant food product development/formulation experience.
• Knowledge of HACCP, SQF, GMP, allergen control, and FDA food safety preferred.
• Experience analyzing experimental data and communicating results.
• Ability to prepare Product Data Sheets and nutritional information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize food formulations to meet customer and market needs.
• Select and evaluate raw materials by performance, quality, and cost.
• Prepare product samples for customer testing and approval.
• Conduct formulation, stability, and shelf-life testing.
• Develop experimental plans for short- and long-term projects using DOE.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to support product development.
