Job summary

Sugar Creek Packing Co. is seeking a quality assurance professional in Cambridge City, Indiana to perform tests and inspections on raw materials, in-process products and finished goods. The role involves documenting results, supporting HACCP compliance and reporting deviations to Plant management.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of QA experience in food manufacturing, proficient with MS Office, and a strong understanding of GMPs, HACCP, FSIS and USDA standards. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years QA experience in a food manufacturing setting preferred.
• GMPs, HACCP, FSIS and USDA knowledge.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-operational sanitation reviews of the processing area and equipment.
• Sample environmental surfaces, finished product and ingredients for microbiology and chemistry attributes.
• Collect packages and verify weight, temperature, dates, and other AQL checks.
• Print labels on the label machine when required.
• Place product on hold if it does not meet AQLs.
• Report deviations and document HACCP records.
• Inform Plant FSQA Manager and Supervisor of any quality issues.
• Verify ingredients and packaging materials against internal specs.
• Maintain accurate HACCP documentation.
• Clean and sterilize laboratory equipment.
• Follow safety, food quality, and sanitation policies.
