Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a Quality Control Technician for our Waco Prepared Foods Facility in Waco, Texas. The role focuses on ensuring raw product meets specifications before processing, with emphasis on food safety and quality assurance throughout production.

Responsibilities include monitoring HACCP, calibrating equipment, conducting metal detector checks, and communicating with supervisors on out-of-spec products. Training on HACCP/SSOP and GMPs is provided; applicant must pass a math test.

Qualifications

• Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and document HACCP, SSOPs and/or GMPs.
• Conduct equipment inspection throughout the processing day.
• Calibrate scales and/or thermometers daily.
• Perform metal detector checks to identify foreign material.
• Collect samples for food safety and quality assurance testing.
• Perform process control checks to ensure production specifications are being followed.
• Identify nonconforming raw and finished product and ensure proper disposition by management.
