Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in food science, Chemistry, Biology, or equivalent.
• Minimum five years in quality control or assurance in a food lab setting.
• At least one year of leadership experience.
• HAACP Certification required; Food Defense Certification preferred.
• PCQI certification required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, quality management systems, and LIMS.
• Knowledge of microbiological and chemical testing methods.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the release of finished goods in accordance with organizational procedures and processes.
• Lead and manage quality control technicians and inspectors.
• Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and provide coaching and feedback.
• Develop and monitor individual development plans (IDPs) and track progress.
• Implement and monitor quality control procedures aligned with GMP, HACCP, and other standards.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of inspections, testing, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with third-party labs for product testing when needed.
• Conduct root cause analysis and lead corrective/preventive actions.
• Identify trends in defects and implement solutions to reduce non-conformance.
• Collaborate with production and sanitation teams to optimize quality processes.
