Job summary

Bento Inc. is hiring a Food Production Worker at our Chicago facility to prepare sushi and other products, including rice and ingredient prep, while maintaining sanitary conditions and quality standards.

You will support a team-driven kitchen, follow strict food-safety protocols, and contribute to a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role requires lifting, standing for long periods, and flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in food production or kitchen environments preferred.
• Able to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Must be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lb).
• Willing to work early morning shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sushi and other products including cooking rice and preparing raw ingredients.
• Ensure all operating standards including food safety are adhered to and final products meet quality standards.
• Wash pots, pans, inserts, utensils, etc. and clean kitchen equipment per schedule.
• Maintain a favorable working relationship with teammates to maximize morale and productivity.

Location and hours

• Chicago Food Factory:2136 South Peoria Street Chicago, IL 60608 | Available shifts: 2:00am to 10:30am, 7:00am to 3:30pm, or 9:00pm to 5:30am

Responsibilities

As a Food Production Worker, you focus on creating quality sushi and other Bento products. You maintain a sanitary work environment by following a routine cleaning schedule of kitchen equipment. Lastly, you put the "team" in teammate by fostering an inclusive working environment by promoting teamwork and collaboration to maximize morale, productivity, and efficiency.

• Prepare sushi and other products including cooking rice, preparation of raw ingredients, sushi rolling, cutting, sorting, and packaging.
• Ensure all operating standards including food safety are adhered and final products meet quality standards.
• Wash all pots, pans, inserts, utensils, etc. and clean kitchen equipment when called upon and as per cleaning schedule.
• Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other teammates to foster and promote a working environment that maximizes morale, productivity, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• You thrive in a highly repetitive task environment
• Able to work in a refrigerated, cold climate (40°F working climate, walk in refrigerator and 0°F for walk in freezer)
• Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lb) where required and stand for extended periods
• Flexible to work various shifts and weekends
