Job summary

Vallarta Supermarkets in Simi Valley, CA seeks a Food Process Clerk (full-time/part-time) to maintain clean work areas, assist in food prep and packaging, and follow directions to support teamwork. The role is hourly, with a pay range of $16.25–$19.25 per hour.

Position requires adherence to health and safety policies, proper uniform, PPE, and ability to handle temperatures from 55° to 100°. Casual and physical work is expected in a commissary setting.

Qualifications

• Must obey all State and Federal guidelines regarding health and safety policies.
• Wear clean complete uniform at all times: black pants, white Vallarta polo shirt, black non-slip shoes, dark socks, hair net/blue robe and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
• Wear safety glove when using knives.
• Wash hands frequently (at least every 20 minutes) with hot water and anti-microbial soap from elbows down for no less than 20 seconds.
• Work in temperatures ranging anywhere from 55°-100°

Job Duties

• Maintain assigned work area clean at all times (sweep, mop, clear of dirt, etc.)
• Maintain a workstation that is organized and stocked.
• Assist in preparation, production and packaging of food.
• Follow management directions and promote teamwork.
• And all other assigned job duties.

Essential Job Duties

• Lift boxes and product ranging between 20 lbs up to 60 lbs
• Place boxes/product onto dolly or cart
• Push/pull between 30 lbs up to 200 lbs (items on cart/dolly)
• Bend/Stoop pick up and or place product below waist level (including shelves and racks)
• Place product onto bins and position for delivery
• Grasp/Grip product to prepare for delivery by either cutting or cleaning product
• Constant sweeping/pushing broom to pick up debris to keep work area clean
• Reaching above shoulder level (cookware placement on shelving/racks in kitchen area)
• Place debris/trash/recycle cardboard in respective areas
• Will clean and maintain kitchen tables and bins
• Wash dishes and pots

Physical Requirements

• Lift boxes and product ranging between 20 lbs up to 60 lbs
• Place boxes/product onto dolly or cart
• Push/pull between 30 lbs up to 200 lbs (items on cart/dolly)
• Bend/Stoop pick up and or place product below waist level (including shelves and racks)

Non-essential Job Duties

• Climb ladders to retrieve product on top shelf/cooler.
