Job summary

Guardian Protection Products in Elgin, IL is seeking a dedicated sanitation associate to maintain clean, food-safe processing areas, equipment, and surrounding facilities. You will report to the Production Supervisor and perform daily sanitation across all processing lines and mixing rooms, supporting a safe and compliant environment.

Responsibilities include keeping records, participating in safety training, and implementing sanitation improvements while adhering to SDS guidelines and PPE

Qualifications

• Must possess good reading, writing and math skills.
• Must always be safety conscious.
• Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs.
• Must be self-directed and able to work without close supervision.
• Willing and able to work overtime as needed.
• Hardworking, dependable, and safety conscious.
• Willingness to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Strong quantitative skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to think critically.
• Ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize work.
• Read and understand chemical labels.
• Read and understand HACCP along with SQF and OSHA requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate and train employees

Responsibilities

• Perform daily sanitation of all processing lines and mixing rooms.
• Maintain cleanliness and food safe environment of the facility, equipment, and surrounding area.
• Report to Production Supervisor and follow directions.
• Fill out daily sanitation logs and shift paperwork; complete performance reports.
• Ensure safety and proper use of PPE; follow SDS guidelines.
• Develop and implement sanitation improvements and corrective actions as needed.
• Keep areas free of waste, debris, and liquids to prevent hazards.
• Maintain communications between Manager and shift supervisors.
