Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking a Maintenance Technician to implement preventive maintenance, diagnose equipment issues, and manage parts and tools in a fast-paced food production facility in Maryland. The role includes mentoring team members, adhering to GMP and safety standards, and coordinating with vendors to minimize downtime.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of maintenance experience in food production, knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems, and strong communication

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of maintenance experience in food production or manufacturing environments.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read repair manuals, parts catalogues, blueprints and safety procedures.
• Able to diagnose repair needs and communicate them to stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with deadlines.
• Ability to train teammates and communicate clearly to varying stakeholders.
• Basic computer skills; Excel, Word, PowerPoint; learn custom apps.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Implements preventative maintenance schedules and checklists for all equipment in the facility.
• Logs and communicates timeframes for maintenance items, repairs, and vendor schedules.
• Diagnoses equipment malfunctions and determines repair strategies.
• Assists with inventory management of maintenance supplies, parts, and tools.
• Establishes and maintains logs of routine maintenance and vendor scheduling.
• Mentors and trains Team Members in proper equipment use.
• Ensures work is performed promptly without disrupting business operations.
• Adheres to safety policies including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO).
• Maintains GMP, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Uses hand and power tools and diagnostic devices.
• Maintains relationships with stakeholders including customers, vendors and teams.
• Attends equipment and certification trainings.
