Job summary

Mom’s Meals | A Purfoods Company is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to keep production and facility equipment running safely and efficiently. You will perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on food processing and packaging systems, while collaborating with production, engineering, and quality teams to minimize downtime.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, familiarity with LOTO, GMPs, HACCP, and CMMS, plus experience with conveyors, robotics, and utility

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
• Understanding of LOTO, Hot Work, Confined Space, and other safety procedures.
• Understanding of Food Safety requirements in an FDA/USDA regulated environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to maintain, diagnose, and repair industrial food equipment.
• Hands-on experience with conveyors, fillers, packers, sealers, robotics, and/or utility systems.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems (bearings, gearboxes, motors, belts, chains, drive systems).
• Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems (Sensors, VFDs, PLC, 24-480V, 3PH).
• Competency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement instruments.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; able to work under pressure.
• Familiarity with preventive/predictive maintenance and CMMS.
• Ability to read/interpret manuals, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules including overtime and weekends.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment (conveyors, fillers, tray sealers, labelers, robotic systems, utility equipment).
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical issues to minimize downtime.
• Inspect equipment for wear/defects and perform timely repairs or replacements.
• Install, align, calibrate, and commission new equipment and lines as required.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns; communicate maintenance activities to production.
• Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and parts inventory in CMMS.
• Follow safety procedures (LOTO, Confined Space, Hot Work, etc.).
• Comply with GMPs and HACCP food safety standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Identify and propose equipment/process improvements to reduce downtime and costs.
• Fabricate or modify parts using welding, machining, or other methods.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area.
