Job summary

JobSquad is seeking a Food Industry Maintenance Supervisor in Alma, GA to lead maintenance in a USDA-regulated facility. You will supervise ammonia refrigeration systems, electrical/motor control tasks, and ensure HACCP/PSM compliance, while coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance.

The role requires 4+ years in meat processing maintenance and 5+ years in ammonia systems, with flexibility for nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in industrial or meat processing maintenance.
• Minimum five years operating ammonia refrigeration systems; lead tech preferred.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems, motor controls, and PLCs.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, USDA, and PSM regulatory requirements.
• Experience in a USDA-regulated meat or food processing facility preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and emergencies.
• Supervise, coordinate, and participate in maintenance activities across buildings, utilities, and processing areas.
• Direct employees performing structural maintenance (masonry, carpentry, painting).
• Oversee electrical maintenance including motor controls, high/low voltage wiring, and PLC systems.
• Provide sanitation-support maintenance to prevent contamination.
• Plan, schedule, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Inspect completed work for conformance with specs, food safety, and regulatory standards.
• Maintain maintenance records and ERP system (work orders, inspections, inventory).
• Manage tools, equipment, and spare parts inventory.
• Analyze maintenance problems, root causes, and corrective actions.
• Enforce safety, food safety, and sanitation regulations.
• Assist other departments with equipment moves/installations.
• Remain on-call for emergency maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with USDA, FSIS, OSHA, EPA and local regulations.
• Support HACCP plans and CCPs.
• Prevent chemical, physical, and biological contamination from maintenance.
• Participate in USDA inspections and audits.
• Ensure proper release of equipment and areas after maintenance prior to production startup.
• Maintain SSOP compliance.
