Job summary

The Salvation Army Williston Corps is seeking a Food Pantry Assistant to support daily pantry operations at our Williston, ND site. You will handle donations, organize food items, and assist with distribution to participants, while training and guiding volunteers in a respectful, person-centered manner.

Responsibilities include pickup and transport of in-kind donations, inventory control, and ensuring food safety and sanitation compliance consistent with standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background checks required before employment.
• Valid driver's license and MVR requirements are required.
• Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Donation Pickups & Receiving: Drive to local businesses to collect donated items.
• Food Distribution & Participant Services: Prepare and distribute food boxes to participants.
• Volunteer Training & Support: Train and guide volunteers for pantry operations.
• Food Pantry Operations & Compliance: Maintain pantry cleanliness and safety per standards.
• Inventory, Donation Processing & Recordkeeping: Manage inventory and distribution records.
